Mahabharat - A different point of view - Part 2

Ok continuing from previous post.

गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णुर्गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः ।
गुरुरेव परं ब्रह्म तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः

We believe Guru is parallel to god. We do respect our teachers. But as per me, Dronacharya is the most partial Guru or teacher I have ever seen. He always gave preference to Arjuna rather than his own son Ashwatthama. Ashwatthama was a blessed child. Almost immortal. He had a diamond on his forehead. This diamond was destroyed by Krishna and cursed him to be immortal till the end of the world with lot of sufferings. (Will talk about this too in next post ;-) )

Dronacharya even refused Eklavya to teach archery. But Eklavya was very dedicated. He created statue of Dronacharya and started learning himself thinking his guru is with him. Due to his dedication, Lord shiva got impressed. He taught eklavya from the statue of Dronacharya.

But again, I hate this person. Eklavya after completing his studies, went to Dronacharya, to give him GuruDakshina. Dronacharya asked him to show his talent. He became afraid after watching his mastery in Archery. So he asked for his thumb of right hand. Eklavya without thinking anything, gave it to his Guru. Dronacharya thought he will not be able to do archery. But eklavya learnt to use his other two fingers while aiming the bow.

Now coming to Pandavas. Were pandavas so good to be always favoured. Even they had flaws in them. After Arjun winning the competition and getting married to Draupadi, All pandavas came home. Kunti was meditating at that moment. Yudhishtir says, Mom, see we have brought something. Kunti had a habit. Whenever Pandavas used to bring something, she use to say, distribute among all of you. This time her eyes were closed. As per her habit she said the same thing. First of all, it was yudhishtirs fault. Why did he used the word "something". why didn,t he say, Arjun has won competition and married to Draupadi. Please look at your daughter-in-law.

Again. Even in that era, it was against the religion for a lady to marry more than one Man. Why didn't they opposed this fact. They always used to follow mothers word. But that doesn't mean you will literally follow the wrong words or mistakes. Yes She mistakenly said those word. Their was no need to follow it. First Mistake by Yudhishthir and his brothers.

Duryodhan and shakuni invited to play Ludo. First mistake Pandavas did was to accept the invitation. Second, it was against the ethics of religion to play Ludo. Third, they didn't ask Krishna before going there. If Krishna would have played dice, History would be something different. Why blame Duryodhan and Dusshasana for the abuse. The main game planner was Shakuni. Very few people knew about Vikarna, who was one of the Kaurav brothers. He protested against the molestation of Draupadi.

To be continued..........
